V2 Supporter - Pre Natal Cradle

During pregnancy, vulvar varicosities can occur for many reasons. Increased weight of the enlarged uterus sometimes creates pressure on veins in the pelvic area and interferes with the flow of blood returning from the legs. Naturally higher levels of estrogen promote growth, while increased progesterone tends to relax the smooth muscles of the vein walls. The relaxed veins can become distended and "pop out" as vulvar varicosities. Wearing the V2 supporter before rising in the morning, helps prevent excessive swelling of the vulvar veins.

The V2 Supporter provides clinically proven compression therapy

Recommended for:
  • Vulvar Varicosities (also used post sclerotherapy)
  • Lympedema
  • Perineal edema
  • Incontinence
  • External prolapsed bladder or uterus

The V2Supporter is:
  • Doctor recommended
  • Adjustable for maximum comfort and support
  • Safe, effective, and convenient
  • Soft, lightweight, and machine washable (line dry)

You can find all of these items at Stork Maternity in Dean Street Albury or at our online store

Re-usable nappies

Following is some useful info for anyone who is considering using cloth nappies,
re-usable nappies, modern cloth nappies. whatever you would like to call them.
CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT CLOTH NAPPIES
Modern Cloth Nappies
Today’s cloth nappies are not the nappies of our grandmother’s days. (MCN'S) Modern cloth nappies are easier to use and more comfortable for the baby.
Cloth nappies are the perfect choice for the environmentally minded parent on a budget.
Change the way you think about cloth nappies with the wide range available at Stork Maternity

Itti Bitti Nappies

Itti Bitti has a signature ultra trim fit, with a luxurious minkee outer in a fantastic colour range.
8 layers of highly absorbent bamboo to keep your baby dry.
Itti Bitti’s are comfortable with the fit and performance of a disposable.

Baby Beehinds

These fantastic nappies are an All in One with a twist. Made with a soft and stretchy outer, non pill suede cloth inner and sewn in soaker pad of 4 layers of microfiber. They also have a pocket opening at the back of the nappy so you can insert extra bamboo boosters for extra absorbency, perfect for heavy wetters.

Pea pods

Pea pods are a pocket style nappy with absorbent insert included. The absorber is made from bamboo. Bamboo is ultra absorbent, naturally antibacterial and a sustainable resource. Pea Pods are trim fitting and stylish with a range of colour co-ordinations.

Pop In Nappies

The Pop In nappy is made from bamboo, this nappy is slim fitting and fast drying. One size grows with your baby from birth to toilet training with the multi sized popper system. Goes on baby in one piece. Soft touch waterproof outer shell.

Environmental choice

According to NSW Environment protection Authority 800 million disposable nappies are used in Australia every year, totalling 111,220 tonnes of solid waste. This amount of waste creates nearly 150,000 cubic metres of land-fill. Considering that disposable nappies take up to 400 years to break down, it’s going to be a while before we can start re-using the dumping ground of the first generation of disposable nappies just 25 years ago.

FAQ

At Stork Maternity we get asked alot of questions about maternity bras and breastfeeding.
I have listed some below with our answers as well.
If you have any questions of your own, please don't hesitate to ask

1.  When should I start wearing a maternity bra?

According to the Australian Breastfeeding Association the breast begins to prepare for your baby quite early in pregnancy, and some woman will feel uncomfortable or fully outgrow there usual bra sooner than others.
As a general rule most changes to the breast have occurred by around 16 weeks and this is a good time to be fitted, if you haven’t been already. Stork provides a professional bra fitting service.

2.  Is it true I can’t wear an underwire bra

Many women would prefer to wear an underwire bra, but underwire is not recommended during pregnancy. The reason for this is your changing breasts.
A rigid underwire can put pressure on already tender breasts. When breastfeeding the breasts can increase and decrease in size during the day. And retained fluid during pregnancy can cause your breasts to swell. Although there is only a slight change occurring and underwire can be uncomfortable when the breast is fuller and having this pressure can lead to blocked ducts and infection (mastitis).

3.  Will I get the same Support from a maternity Bra

Maternity Bras are designed in such a way that you will get the same support from a beautiful maternity bra as you would from your original underwire bra and you will be a lot more comfortable.

4.  Should I wear a bra to bed?

Wearing a bra to bed is a personal preference. Some women like to wear a bra to bed for support and to hold nursing pads in place. An alternative to this would be a feeding singlet with a supportive cup or shelf bra and nursing clips, making it much more comfortable and convenient.

5.  How many bras will I need?

During pregnancy it is recommended to have at least 2 bras, one lighter and one darker to go under any outfit.
During breastfeeding you should have 3-4 bras as your breasts may leak milk and may need changing more frequently than usual.

6.  How does a maternity bra differ from a normal bra

There are many different styles and designs of maternity bras available. A good maternity bra should have the following features.

·        Extended hook and eye clips
·        Drop feeding cups
·        Wide diaphragm for support
·        Soft lining for comfort
·        Inner sling for support inside the cup and keeps strap in place while feeding.
